Triple-platinum rock legends 3 Doors Down will perform under the lights at the action-packed Bank of America 500, the only Saturday night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, when the three-time GRAMMY nominees and personal friends of NASCAR stars Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart electrify a captivated crowd at the pre-race entertainment stage on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. "I'm a huge NASCAR fan, so it's an honor to get to play under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway this fall," said lead vocalist Brad Arnold. "The fans there are great - it's NASCAR's hometown event. And, it will be great to see Tony's last race there as well." OVERVIEW: The full 60-minute 3 Doors Down Bank of America 500 pre-race concert will highlight the Bank of America 500 pre-race pit party, which will also include driver appearances, Q&As with some of the biggest names in the sport and more. The band shares a long history with NASCAR. Earnhardt Jr. and Stewart were in the "Road I'm On" music video in 2003, and the band members individually have friendships with Earnhardt, Stewart and a number of other drivers. They have performed many times over the past two decades at NASCAR events and also sponsored an Earnhardt-owned car that Stewart drove in 2003. Earnhardt drove a car featuring the 3 Doors Down logo in 2005, and again in the 2008 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Formed in 1995, GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum Mississippi rock band 3 Doors Down consistently captivates audiences worldwide. The quintet's many accolades include selling 16 million albums globally, receiving three GRAMMY nominations, and winning two American Music Awards and five BMI Pop Awards for songwriting - including "Songwriter of the Year." Their debut "The Better Life" became certified six-times RIAA platinum in 2000 and was fueled by the success of juggernaut hit "Kryptonite." This was followed by 2002's sophomore album "Away from the Sun" which went triple-platinum and saw similar success with "When I'm Gone" and "Here Without You." The 2005 platinum "Seventeen Days" and 2008's "3 Doors Down" each earned No. 1 debuts on the Billboard Top 200, while "Time of My Life" landed at No. 3 in 2011. In 2003, the group founded the charity The Better Life Foundation. Ignited by the single "In The Dark," 3 Doors Down unleashed their sixth full-length album "Us and the Night" this year, and are currently headlining a U.S. tour. Click here for a full bio.
