The cameras won't be the only things rolling when Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts a scintillating Media Mayhem school bus race in Tuesday's Round 8 of the Bojangles' Summer Shootout, in what promises to be a fender-flying, tire-squealing, 13-ton turf war among media members on the frontstretch quarter-mile. Local media will trade their microphones and teleprompters for helmets and fire suits in a school bus slobberknocker unlike any other that stands as only part of a wild showcase of Legend Car and Bandolero battles leading to the title-deciding crescendo on Aug. 1-2. There will be no repeat Media Mayhem champion in 2016 as last year's winner, NBC New Channel's Joe "Hot Wheels" Howard is not in the field. Familiar names who will strap in for a wild night of beating and banging around the quarter-mile include: Al Conklin, WBTV Anthony Flores, FOX 46 Brandon Davidow, WCCB Kelsey Riggs, WCNC Kris Stevens, WKKT Matthew East, Time Warner Cable News Charlotte Molly Cottem, ESPN730 As a salute to the nation's brave defenders of safety and society, each law enforcement member attending a Bojangles' Summer Shootout event with valid identification card will receive FREE admission for the law enforcement member and family.
