The lights have been hung, the trees are being decorated and cheer is in the air, which means that Christmas is right around the corner. With only 10 days until the fourth annual Speedway Christmas kicks off, crews have been hard at work stringing lights and creating elaborate displays that will dazzle guests.

Construction along the 3.1-mile drive-through course, which includes 800 displays and 3 million lights, is almost complete and the interactive piece of Speedway Christmas is beginning to take shape. Fans of all ages can enjoy the Bojangles' Petting Zoo and pony rides. Horse-drawn carriage rides and camel rides are also available. For those looking for a more high-speed Christmas experience, the Village will offer bumper cars, Christmas train rides, a gyroscope and an inflatable slide, all sponsored by Circle K. After enjoying the rides and attractions, guests are encouraged to warm up and roast marshmallows at the fire pits or enjoy the Nativity scene in Bethlehem Village.

The Christmas Village will also host several vendors including Scentsy, Queensland Custom Jewelry, 31 Monogrammable Totes/Bags, Huggable Creations, Sam Bass, Origami Owl and the Speedway Club. The Christmas Village is open every Thursday through Sunday as part of Speedway Christmas. The event will also host movie nights every Friday and Saturday featuring classics like "A Christmas Story" and "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

And, of course, Christmas wouldn't be complete with a stroll through Santa's elves' workshop and getting a photo with the jolly ol' elf.

Fans can get a sneak peek of the light show and enjoy a concert by Charlotte-based Charity Case during the Eggnog Jog 5K on Friday, Nov. 22. New for 2013, the fun run is a unique way for fans to see the lights and kick off the Christmas season. Participants are encouraged to dress in their most festive attire and bring friends. For registration details and more information, visit www.eggnogjog5K.com.

The drive-through light show will be open nightly Nov. 23-Dec. 30 from 6-10 p.m., and closed Christmas Day. Admission to Speedway Christmas is $15 per car on Monday-Wednesday nights, when the village is closed, and $20 per car on Thursday-Sunday nights, when the village is open. Group rates for tour buses and corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available.
