Christmas came early at America's Home for Racing Tuesday night as Round 9 of Cook Out Summer Shootout brought festive fun and fierce competition to Charlotte Motor Speedway. Santa traded his sleigh for a race car while fans enjoyed holiday-themed entertainment and thrilling on-track action as drivers continued their push toward next week's Champions Night finale. Brady Price in the Chargers Division and Scott Moseley in the Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical Masters Division both rocked around the racetrack on their way to Victory Lane. PRICE DRIVES SLEIGH INTO VICTORY LANE Brady Price in the Chargers Division rode his sleigh all the way to Victory Lane, earning his first Cook Out Summer Shootout victory in just his third start after a race full of action from the drop of the green flag. Cautions, restarts and a battle for the lead kept fans on the edge of their seats as they waited for the snow to settle. Craig Biryla came flying out of the chimney to grab the early lead while Price stayed glued to his rear bumper through the opening laps. Following an early Pro-FABrication Caution involving Nicholas Newsome, Biryla maintained control before another multi-car incident on Lap 6 reset the field once again. The holiday showdown intensified as Price pulled alongside Biryla on Lap 10 in a battle for the top spot. Although Biryla briefly reclaimed the lead, another caution on Lap 12 involving Nova Palermo set up a dramatic finish. The restart proved costly for Matthew Garland, who spun from third and surrendered his shot at the victory. When racing resumed for the final time, Price found another gear, making the winning pass with just three laps remaining. One final caution couldn't slow his momentum as he held off the field on the restart to secure his first Chargers victory. Biryla finished second, Tryson Pinion crossed the line in third, Ian Isringhausen was fourth and Penelope Carlisle rounded out the top five. "After leading at the white flag on Round 7, I was really wanting this win," said Price. "These cautions could not have come at a worse time except that last one. I'm just so excited to win here at Charlotte Motor Speedway." MOSELEY DASHES TO FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON Scott Moseley earned his first Cook Out Summer Shootout victory of the season Tuesday night, capitalizing on a late-race restart to win the Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical Masters feature. After taking the green flag in the third spot, Moseley quickly worked his way into second, getting around Jesse Bunnell by Lap 9 and heading toward the battle for the lead at the front. For more than a dozen laps, Faggart and Moseley battled side by side for the lead in a clean, competitive fight at the front of the field. Their duel came to an end when Faggart spun following contact, bringing out the Pro-FABrication Caution and opening the door for Moseley. Following the night's second caution, Moseley led the field back to green and never looked back, pulling away over the closing laps to secure his first Victory Lane appearance of the season. Bolen rallied back to finish second, while Hoyt Demis and Mike Curran capitalized on the late restart to round out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively. “Following the restart, I kind of had to take what came my way. You can't make a plan,” said Moseley. “You just have to see what happens when you get down in the turns and it gets tight, and I just came out on top.” Rob Brown (Beginner Bandoleros), Maverick Bradshaw (Bandits), Carson Sherman (Outlaws), Brady Price (Chargers), Landon Thrasher (Young Lions), Colton Hale (VP Fuels Semi-Pro), Ben Morabito (Pros) and Scott Moseley (Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical Masters), all celebrated dashing wins.
