A night of red, white and racing roared to life during Round 6’s Red, White & Vrooms, presented by PRO-FABrication Headers & Exhaust. While inclement weather shortened the event, Spencer Bradshaw (Young Lions) and Brexton Busch (Bandits and Chargers) delivered star-spangled performances, capping off an action-packed evening on the quarter-mile. With fast laps and freedom flags flying, a heated battle to cross the finish line unfolded in Bradshaw’s dominant Young Lions performance, securing his fourth win in the Young Lions division of Cook Out Summer Shootout. While Alex Pate initially took charge of the lead, the rest of the field quickly intensified in a chase for the top spot. Going two-wide into Lap 3, Bradshaw used the inside of Turn 1 to fuel past Pate, grasping the lead and leaving Pate and Colton Hale trailing behind, fighting for second. Driving full throttle into Lap 10, Ben Morabito made himself known as he surged forward, challenging Pate, before a fourth PRO-FABrication Headers & Exhaust caution flag bunched the top spots. With pedals to the metal, Bradshaw and Morabito began their intense battle for first place. Morabito dove inside in an attempt to pass Bradshaw, sparking a side-by-side battle, which ended with Morabito sliding in and taking the lead for the first time in the race. Bumper-to-bumper action continued as Morabito and Bradshaw continued their fierce battle for the top spot. Bradshaw claimed the lead on Lap 22, colliding with Morabito, causing him to be bumped back into fourth place, clearing Bradshaw’s path to victory. As Bradshaw crossed the finish line, Hale and Brody Rhodes took second and third place, while Morabito and TJ Moon completed the top five. DOUBLE THE TROUBLE: BREXTON BUSCH Full steam ahead, for the second night in a row, Brexton Busch scored victories in both the Bandits and Chargers divisions for Round 6 of Cook Out Summer Shootout. In an electrifying Bandits showdown, Brexton weaved through the field to take the lead by Lap 10, setting the tone for a thrilling finish. Fending off opponents James Behnke and Evan Johnson, it was a dash to the checkered flag for a dramatic finish. For Busch, one win wasn’t enough. Leading from the beginning, Brexton ran away from the Chargers field at the drop of the green flag. Despite a few Pro-FABrication Headers and Exhaust cautions shaking up the field, Max Calles wasn’t able to blast past Busch, allowing him to seal the deal for a double win in this week's doubleheader. In other action, Josh Davenport (Beginner Bandoleros) and Landon Thrasher (Outlaws) brought the heat on a night fueled by speed and patriotism. While the VP Fuels Semi-Pro, Dilling Heating, Colling, Plumbing & Electrical Pros and American Rebel Ale Masters divisions were unable to take the green flag due to weather, the remainder of Round 6 will be completed on Tuesday, July 8, ahead of Round 7’s regularly scheduled racing action.
